It’s Summer so updates have been few and far between. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy ‘creating’…
Here’s some of the projects I am working on right now:
- K444 – Growing Up In The Shadow of a Rusty Boat – My ‘memoir'(?) about growing up at Oyster Bay, a wee hamlet south of Campbell River, BC. This was originally added to my site just for family, a kind of ‘let’s have a chuckle together’ for myself and my sibs 3000 miles away. My sister then suggested this should be a book so that’s what I am working on now… 🙂
- Poetry – I realized I have something like 200 poems littering my hard drive so am organizing them, possibly into some chapbooks down the road.
- Tanamaru – still in the idea and outlining stage, a dystopian fantasy novel
- Revisiting The Marcy Street Irregulars (about a cityfied West Coaster living in a small Southwestern Ontario farming community), Oh The Humanity (people, places and things that still make me smile, humbly) and other writing projects I have shelved along the way (Ransom, Ousby, A Summer of Dolphins, My Guardian Angel, Winters).
- Starting to collect up all my recipes into one place.
- Bags, bags, bags – I think I am up to about 6 or 7 of the recycled denim bags. Must put up some pics…
- A new manuscript app – I am ditching the folder of text files idea for creating manuscripts. ‘Wordsworth’ (working title) is sqlite3 based with a text editor, outlining tool, character tool, notes and a word count tracking section. It also allows importing text or html files and exporting to text, pdf or epub (all ready for Sigil editor). It’s a fun project and
will post pics when I have a chance.Article posted... 🙂 - And as always working a scabillion hours a week or wandering about with two phones in my bag hoping something doesn’t break at a network…
How about you? How is your Summer going? Staying cool (Summer has been deadly here)? Any projects you want to share?
Keep on Truckin’
Mark
