We lose sight of the horizon
navigating
the crests and troughs of an angry sea
that is our life
from first coffee to pajama time.
We lose sight of the big picture
attending
to the details of little images
that at the end of days
mean nothing to our legacy.
We lose sight of what’s important
striving
to be one better or not get caught
in our imposterhood
is that a word I wonder.
We gain sight of our real life
sensing
the big picture in the small
that makes us smile
at each sunrise or babies’ laugh.
