So I am doing a bit of a weed-out of the bits and bobs I have stuffed into boxes over the years. Last mini-project was the SamBag, using a pair of his painter pants from when he was about 4 (he is 21 now so you know how long they have been in a box).
Along the way I discovered I had squirrelled away quite a few pairs of old jeans which I have been ‘dissecting’ for usable fabric. Kind of a fun practice actually, as it gets my eyeballs away from the row of monitors over my desk (IRL you would understand!).
Anyway I noticed that although I am really good at poking my knobbly knees through the front of my jeans, because I never wear a wallet in my hip pocket, most of the pockets were quite ‘pristine’. 🙂
Long story short, I wasn’t that happy with the leather carrier I made for my ear buds. The carrier ended up being just a wee bit tight. I will probably find another role for it but in the meantime…
Pockets… ear buds… hmm… an idea!
So here is the latest mini-project, a carrier for phone and ear buds, or a wallet or whatever you like that fits the size! I left the fabric ‘behind’ the pockets and stitched both together to make it into two pockets. With a bit of my leftover paracord, presto!

Earbuds fit great, my phone is good and I should be able to put a wallet or even my (karf karf..) cigarette case into it. Then I can attach a thin strap and away I go. I could also attach it to the SamBag…
Hmm.. potentials!
And yes my desk is messy and my stitchery leaves a bit to be desired. But hey it’s about growing and learning, and enjoying myself in the process.
Cheers,
Mark
