Crafting a Bigger Board

The bigger, better macraloom.

A while back I made up a small frame for tying paracord bracelets, worked slick, so I decided to make a bigger one for making belts. It worked great too…

But…

It was a bit of a pain with the two board, especially since the longer one was just a bit too short. And I kind of had a hankering to do some more tapestry weaving. It had been years since I had tried my hand at that and I remembered it being kind of fun (it helps having a master weaver in the house…).

So me being on a few days PTO, Miss Frieda snoozing in the living room and Sam off playing a video game I decided to have a root about in my shop to see what I could find.

So I did find:

  • An A/C window adaptor that someone had tossed out.
  • A couple of drawer handles from my buynothing group on FB
  • Some ends of oak flooring, again from buynothing
  • A cannibalized bracket from my smaller frame
  • Some tag ends of paracord.

Total cost: Zip (I am liking this more by the minute if you know me IRL)

Hardest part was drilling all the damned holes in the oak flooring for the loom adaptors, but there you have it, a longer frame for doing belts, with a bracket in the middle for making bracelets as well as two loom adaptors waiting to be strung.

And now for some fun!

Cheers,
Mark
