Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls In The Crockpot

Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls in the Crockpot!

I love Autumn!

Although I like the heat of Summer, eventually grilling on the BBQ or whipping up hot dogs in the air fryer can get a bit old. And who wants to heat up the kitchen just to make something special?

But when the leaves start to turn I start peering under the counter at my crockpot! So far a pot of chili, a couple of soups and pulled pork have leapt out of my trusty crockpot, but now time to start to get serious!

Last week I made turkey potato soup after the holiday. Two gallons of it – far too big for my crockpot but now I have several meals tucked away in the freezer.

This time of year also turns my head towards the Fall veggies – squashes, pumpkins and especially cabbage! Nothing better on a hot dog than grilled julienne of cabbage and onions, maybe with a dash of Dijon mustard! Baked Squash in Maple Syrup was a hit at Thanksgiving! And I do love my cabbage soup!

Today’s recipe, Unstuffed Cabbage Rolls, in the crockpot, I found online and it sounded yummy from the get go, even a dash of nutmeg, something I get to use too rarely here. Rather than copying the recipe out here, just go to The Country Cook, and have a look at all the recipes… I def will be back!

Meanwhile, my kitchen is starting to get that awesome Hungarian peasant smell to it and I have a fresh pumpernickel loaf in the fridge…

Nom Nom Nom…
Mark

(one minor change – I was out of tomato sauce so I used a small tin of pizza sauce…)
