Last summer I wrote about making a carry bag for my water bottle, after cracking my kneecap on a swinging bottle while at Mooney’s Bay.
The bag sort of worked, my knees escape further contusions, but I noticed I was still having to carry another bag for the essentials like my wallet, second cellphone (work phone / 24-7 carry), the nicotine bon-bons that maintain my famously sunny countenance (/sarcasm).
Lately I have been on a sewing spree – a new sketchbook bag, a larger carry bag, a new bag for my art supplies and a daypack / backpack in progress, not to mention a bunch more paracord bracelets. Amazing sanity break from the insanity i call work…
In the middle of all this sewing my desk has become a zoo. Guess what rolled off the desk and hit me on the knee? Yup, my water bottle, that I have been moving around my desk and work table for months!
Allrighty, time for an upgrade on the carry bag! Besides Summer will be here in Ottawa on Tundra before you know it (followed closely by Winter no doubt!).
The result is a new carry bag with notebook capability, a better shoulder strap setup, a cellphone pocket that actually fits my work phone and new pocket / flap for the sketchy internal pocket I hacked together last Summer.
The water bottle is happily back in its’ holster and the whole shebang is up on a shelf, safely away from my knees. And now I can hide my bon-bons away from the tsk-tsk’ers behind my sketch book.
Ok Summer, bring it on!
