Stardust

Stardust - a poem

A billion years ago or more
an atom burst
from the big bang
travelling centuries,
eons and millenia
past super nova’s,
gaseous clusters,
milky ways
to numerous to count
then dipped
below the clouds
to wait and watch
while dinosaurs
gave way to ice and snow
and mammals,
swimming,
walking,
flying,
living,
until the perfect moment
it landed in a mother’s womb
to become the stardust
in your smile.

I am glad it did…
