I am one of those people, you know the ones, that gets the odd looks in public (trust me nothing new to me) because we are constantly humming or singing to ourselves. Honest folks I am not totally crackers, though I have heard it helps in my business!
I spend most of my days on a headset connected to MSTeams, but away from work I wear – a headset, no surprise, but listening to my favourite tunes.
Cooking, gotta have ClassicFM, MushroomFM or Cosmo (CHEZ 106FM) playing on the Google Home. Taking a nap it’s the ‘Lazy Sunday’ playlist on Stingray (I highly recommend). Mowing the lawn it will be Pink Floyd to drown out the lawnmower. You get the idea, I love music!
Yesterday this plague that seems to have inundated Ottawa finally caught up to me, dragging my butt around the house in total boredom (I took a sick day from work and I don’t do being sick well). As I was mumbling my way around the net I discovered the Python-VLC module…
Hmm… Idea…
Anyway long and short of it I figured out how to create a small Internet-Radio app that uses a simple JSON file to store the streams I collect around the net (StreamURL.Link is a very good place to find streams btw). Boredom was gone and I now have tunes on my laptop. Actually, come to think of it I can cast them to the Google Home in the kitchen.
Gee, the possibilities when you are bored to tears.
