It’s been a dry summer here in Ottawa on Tundra, with sweltering heat. Even the leaves on the trees in the backyard began to curl early, falling on the lawn in their thirst.
Autumn is usually a time of brisk mornings and warm afternoons, but this week we have seen temps near 30 in the afternoon and 15 overnight (usually our daytime high!). Poor Frieda was just starting to grow her winter coat and now looks for a shady spot on the hardwood floor just to get a nap! And we are back to running the AC (floor fan on Frieda’s kennel so she can sleep at night).
A few years ago I built a weather webapp (surprised?) that stopped working after a few months (not sure why) that would give me a 5 day temperature trend. So this time around, as I self-re-learn python I sat down to dive into matplotlib. It reminds me a lot of HTML Canvas actually so was able to whip up a rough and ready temp trend app. As you can see it is going to be a wee cooler here in Otterwa over the next couple of days but that temp trend looks to be going back up as we head into the Thanksgiving weekend.
Oh yaaay…
