PURL Gets A Plus

PURL-Plus - my bookmark manager gets import and export functions.

Do you remember pURL, my link manager app from a few months ago?

Now that I am taking a bit of a break from creating epubs (don’t worry Dode, K444 is next up) I have been having a second look at the apps I have built over the last few months. And one that needed a bit of a jolt was Purl.

In itself PURL works fine at organizing my bookmarks, but moving from one machine to another was a bit of kludge moving the exe file and the sqlite3 db.

Soo long story short I decided to add on the ability to import and export to / from the db. That way I can simply email my bookmarks to myself or someone else I want to share them with.

Main upgrade features in PURL-Plus:

  • Ability to export a category to a Netscape standard bookmark file (used by Firefox, Chrome, Edge etc.).
  • Ability to export the entire db to a Netscape standard bookmark file
  • Ability to import any Netscape standard bookmark file (good for transferring from your current browser to PURL-Plus.

This is going to come in handy as we look at a scabillion new properties… (shhhhh… 😉 )

(oh… an update… I ditched Avast as my anti-virus and now my Nuitka compiled exe’s don’t go right to quarantine… Booyah!!)
