Even though I live in the national capital I tend to avoid all the hoopla downtown, simply to avoid the 400k visitors that squeeze in with the million residents here for 8 blocks of sweat, noise and flag waving.

This year even the evening program at LeBreton Flats is sort of ho hum so we have opted to stay home and watch on TV. A bit odd considering we are about 2 miles as the crow flies from the Flats. Our sole excursion was to the Canadian Agricultural Farm for a wide view of the airshow over Parlaiment Hill.

Sadly the flights were too far away for decent photographs but the Snowbirds did return for a show later on in the afternoon that was directly overhead. Now THAT was worth the wait!

Happy Canada, however you choose to spend it!
